Strength through cooperation, excellence, and innovation

The promises of the Army Family Covenant direct the Soldier and Family Readiness Division in the execution of its roles and responsibilities as one of five divisions within the Installation Services Directorate:

  • Supporting a Quality of Life commensurate with Quality of Service,
  • Presenting the Army a stronger, more supportive environment where Families can thrive, and
  • Building partnerships with Army Families that enhance their strength and resilience

The Division is responsible for policy, prioritization, resourcing and oversight of Soldier and Family programs and services. Key focus areas include Soldier and Family support, education, and Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR). In addition, the Division serves as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management (ACSIM) primary advocate for the Army Family Covenant (AFC), the Army Family Action Plan (AFAP), the Soldier-Family Action Plan (SFAP), and the Army Community Covenant (ACC).
